The European Renewable Energy Study - II

CD ROM -  Contents

The CD ROM Version is in three sections: 
 
  • 'How to use this programme' - containing basic and advanced instructions
  • 'Encyclopaedia' - containing detailed background information on each country, each technology, definitions of different policies, an explanation of SAFIRE (the energy modelling tool used to make the forecasts) and a dictionary
  • 'Meeting the Challenge' - an interactive multimedia presentation of the findings of TERES II with the full text of the report
The main interactive programme is in five sections: 
  • An Executive Summary in documentary form
  • An Introduction which gives an overview of renewable energy technologies and the background to the report
  • Renewable Energy in Europe covering developments over the last 10 years, the present policy issues and assessment of the future policy framework for renewable energy
  • Market Predictions covering the potential for each technology in each country, the export opportunities for the European industry and the impacts of different policies on employment, the environment and investments
  • Conclusions and Recommendations.  An overview of the findings of the study and recommendations on future policies to support the renewable energy industry
Each section is a combination of documentary, interactive displays and detailed text. 

The Business Version has additional sections for each country (15 European Union countries, 12 Central and Eastern European countries plus 3 countries of the European Economic Area) covering the present energy situation, the current status of renewable energy (both in terms of the technology and the industry), the status of energy markets and the renewable energy market forecasts, with conclusions.  A database with all the market forecasts and impacts figures is also provided allowing the user to determine the outputs in tailored format.
